Dou zi zhi ma cha
The book is divided into two parts: "Past Marriage" and "The Limits of Heartbreak." After telling about her mother ("Autumn Garden"), fellow villagers ("Driftwood"), and marriage ("My Fragrance"), she then focused on the marriages of three women: Mrs. Qin, Xiangjun, and Donglian. It details women's confusion and pain, choice and responsibility, courage and persistence in intimate relationships. Even if their fate is unfair, they will not give up on self-salvation. In addition, the author recalls the past events he experienced with his mother and brother, as well as the records of the deaths of two close relatives. Those trivial things like sesame seeds and mung beans measure the limit of a person's sadness.
